I spotted a new magazine on the stands a week or so ago and upon flipping through, decided to buy it so I could at least review it for Beauty Squared. I don't buy a lot of beauty magazines anymore, for a few reasons, one being that you can get all the info you could want online and another being that most beauty magazines only feature advertiser's products in their articles. As if the countless pages of ads weren't enough!
New Beauty is $9.95 CDN an issue and is published 4 times a year. One look at the cover and you can see this magazine looks quite different from most of the beauty magazines on the stands. New Beauty uses many non-studio photos on the cover. My guess is that these are press shots from movie premieres, red carpets, events, etc. The photo of Reese Witherspoon on the cover does not look photoshopped to hell and back like so many fashion and beauty magazines these days. Reese looks like Reese, Heidi looks like Heidi, Jennifer looks like Jennifer and Madonna looks like Madonna.
New Beauty features innovative products and techniques, including cosmetic surgery but also stresses natural ways to look and feel better from the inside out.
I took some photos of some of the pages inside to show you some of the interesting stories New Beauty offers.

New Beauty does focus a lot on cosmetic chemicals and minor cosmetic surgery which make me a little uneasy, but I know many women aren't so afraid of. NEw Beauty does talk about things you can eat, drink, do and take that can improve your appearance from the inside-out. This is more my beauty philosophy.
The range of products featured is quite dramatic. There are brands I'm familiar with but others I've never heard of before. Some are available only at spas or online. Advertisers are more higher-end and unique brands such as Dr. Brandt, skinstore.com, Jane Iredale, La Bella Donna, Lumene, Kerstin Florian, Moroccan Oil and Restylane.
I am impressed by the scope of this beauty magazine. I'm following them now on Twitter and have liked them on Facebook. I'll definitely be checking out the next issue!
Have you checked out this magazine before? What do you think?
